Here are some special product care tips for your PointOut Polewear products. PointOut Polewear perform as hard as you do, and are known for their durability, functionality, sustainability and high quality.
To keep your apparel lasting longer, please note:
- Hand washing is ideal.
- Machine washing should be in cold water (40ºC) with a mild soap as heat and chemicals can break down the elastics.
- Do not wash with clothing that has abrasive parts such as zippers and velcro.
- Do not use fabric softener or bleach. Never use washing detergent that contains chlorine bleach or fabric conditioner.
- Always hang to dry. Do not tumble dry.
If possible, remove the stain straight away. Soak the stain in cold water (do not use hot water as this can set the stain). Apply a small amount of a mild liquid detergent to the stain and gently rub it in (do not scrub it). Then wash as normal.
Removing strong odours
Fill a large bowl or bucket with lukewarm (max 30°C) water and add a small cup of bicarbonate of soda. Allow the garment to soak overnight. Rinse with cool water and air dry.
Most garments containing spandex / elastic fabric do not wrinkle when washed/dried properly. The general rule is to never iron garments that contain spandex / elastane. However, if ironing is absolutely necessary, iron on the lowest possible heat setting using smooth even pressure. You can always put a towel on top of the garment to avoid any accidents.
PointOut Polewear creates beautiful and unique apparel using specialty fabrics sourced from around the world. We recommend hand washing all laces, meshes, and items with specialty trim.
